CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
CDW Insurance means the car rental company waives the right to collect a high deductible from you if the car is damaged, and most importantly it covers most of the car if you are in a collision. It reduces the deductibles owed if you do have an accident or there is damage to the vehicle. Essentially, the rental company waivers their right to make you, the renter, pay for damages to the car. If you do have an accident, or the car is stolen, without CDW Insurance you will have to pay for all of the repairs and recovery charges, which can quickly become tens of thousands of dollars. With CDW insurance you only have to pay an excess or deductible, which will be significantly less. There are also options on some vehicles for an Excess Refund–more on that later.
FDW (Full Damage Waiver)
Full Damage Waiver Insurance limits your liability in case of an accident to zero.
This applies only if the accident is declared at the time of occurrence to all the Cars and does not cover damages on wheels, tires, the undercarriage of the vehicle and windscreen as well as the interior damages of the car.
INSTRUCTIONS – PROCEDURES IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT
Contact immediately the car rental company. The phone numbers are written on the top of the rental agreement and they can be used 24hrs a day including weekends.
Contact the police.
If there is an injury, report it to the police or contact directly the first aid emergency.
Remain at the accident scene and do not admit liability or guilt until police or one of our representatives arrives.
Obtain names and contact details of parties involved and the witnesses.
GUARANTEE
Category A-B-C: Modi Rent a Car will preauthorize an amount from the driver’s credit card (or cash) as a deposit for guarantee which will be fully refunded at the end of the rental, provided no other charges arise. The amount of the deposit for this car is 500€. Kindly note that if you don’t select an insurance plan for the car, the price will be 1000€ (double price).
Category D-E-F: Modi Rent a Car will preauthorize an amount from the driver’s credit card (or cash) as a deposit for guarantee which will be fully refunded at the end of the rental, provided no other charges arise. The amount of the deposit for this car is 750€. Kindly note that if you don’t select an insurance plan for the car, the price will be 1500€ (double price).
All other categories: Modi Rent a Car will preauthorize an amount from the driver’s credit card (or cash) as a deposit for guarantee which will be fully refunded at the end of the rental, provided no other charges arise. The amount of the deposit for this car is 1250€. Kindly note that if you don’t select an insurance plan for the car, the price will be 2500€ double price).
